Antique Pine Marriage Cupboard With Birds, Flowers & Spotted Jugs

A delightful folk painted 2 door marriage armoire or cupboard in pastel shades of pinks and blues,on a wood grain ground colour, in the panels of the doors are red and white flowers in spotted jugs and in the upper sections big and bold birds probably bulfinches whose ruddy chests in the Christian folklore of Central Europe symbolized love & passion. A one-off piece done for a marriage in the style of the area, probably Austrian Empire, dated to ‘1810’.
