Charlotte Harmer
Charlotte's journey as a fine art painter began in 2015, born out of some years of sadness and pain after suffering several miscarriages. Painting became her solace, with it absorbing her mind and concentration at the same time as being an outlet for creativity. She has now gone on to have a beautiful little boy who is her main focus but lockdown gave her the opportunity to harness her skills once again.
"When painting still lives I hope to create stillness. I hope to render a sense of wonder in the object itself - in its simplicity and beauty. I want my paintings to evoke transcendent beauty; to give the viewer a sense of contemplation and inner stillness and peace".

Alexandra:
I’ve known Charlotte since we were teenagers at boarding school, from where she went on to become a successful photographer.
During two of my expeditions, riding horses from Turkmenistan to Moscow and from Mongolia to Siberia, Charlotte joined me to take hauntingly beautiful images for magazines and newspapers.
Since then Charlotte has re-trained as an artist and produces paintings that I love every bit as much as her photographs; they possess something beyond the image itself, something emotional and not purely intellectual.
