A very special L Shaped Antique Marriage Bench.
Dated 1899 and inscribed with the names of the married couple. It is exquisitely painted depicting traditional Hungarian insignia. The colour of the paint is still bright and vibrant though has worn on the seating area.
This bench comes with incredible provenance and is pictured in a book called Hungarian Village Furniture in situ in the original owner’s home. A copy of which will be included with the purchase, a great conversation piece for any home.
This bench was brought to the UK some years ago, by a Hungarian family and used for many years around a family kitchen table in a London abode.
