Superb Carved & Painted “Four Seasons” Armoire

They don’t come much better than this, a pine marriage cupboard in Baroque or Rococo style, imitating the furnishing of the churches in Bavaria, it has lavish gilded carved detailing, faux marbling and in the panels of the doors colourful depictions of the four seasons with figures and charming country house vernacular details.

It comes from the workshop of Jacob Boheme, a known master maker of the 18th century, in the vicinity of the city of Rosenheim in Bavaria, S-E Germany. The Interior has solid bow-fronted shelves.
