Antique Russian Icon With St George

A beautiful decorative Russian icon on heavy thick panel, multiple sections with Christ, Saints and St George slaying the dragon with several small painted figures of St Anthony (the anchorite) and others elsewhere and in the margins. The style of figurative representation is traditional and was unchanged in the monastic workshops for centuries so hard to date but looks early & yet could even be 19th century. Date is probably not so relevant as the appeal is in the colour and miniaturist’s eye, a piece to scrutinise and pour over.
