This is a woven carpet without pile. One of the features to be emphasized is the weft thread of the kilim, which reproduces the same pattern on both the front and the back, which means that it is sometimes difficult to differentiate between the front and the back. The most famous region for hand-woven kilims is the southern Fars region. This Qashgai kilim is woven by the nomadic / tribal people and can be found in the bazaars of the region, one of the largest trading centres for kilims is the great bazaar of Shiraz. Kilims were also often used as wall hangings in the past and can still be seen today in traditional teahouses and restaurants.
