Wonderful Painted Pine Marriage Box

This is a particular type of “Truhe” or marriage trunk
that comes from the Eferding area east of Linz in
Upper Austria Danube region. These trunks are
characterised by designs to the front made up of
applied thin strips of wood & then decorated with
circles and geometric forms and love hearts in red, greens & whites. Original piece restored.
